Harmony Conference Covered the following:
This conference aims to further unite the Hindu community and take action oriented approaches to tackle issues facing Hindus in the UK.
The conference will focus on six strategic themes that are essential for the growth, resilience, and empowerment of the British Hindu community:
- Hindu Education and Awareness
Enhancing understanding and visibility of Hinduism through curriculum engagement, including active participation in SACREs (Standing Advisory Councils on Religious Education), and promoting accurate representation in educational settings. - Community Resilience and Network Building
Strengthening collaboration and solidarity within and across communities by building robust networks, sharing best practices, and fostering mutual support to address shared challenges. - Safety, Security, and the Protection of Hindu Communities
Addressing hate crime, safeguarding places of worship, and ensuring the physical, emotional, and cultural safety of British Hindus through advocacy, partnerships, and informed action. - Youth Engagement and Cultural Preservation
Empowering the next generation through meaningful engagement, leadership opportunities, and initiatives that preserve and celebrate Hindu heritage, language, and traditions. - Media, Policy, and Representation
Amplifying Hindu voices in public discourse by influencing policy, improving media representation, and building capacity for effective civic and institutional engagement. - Celebrating British Hindu Contributions
Recognising the achievements and service of British Hindus through the British Hindu Achievers Awards, and promoting positive narratives via initiatives such as Hindu Awareness Month.
